THS: Some are calling your new project “The Diam Piece 2” a complete album. When you were assembling it did you think it was going to be this well-received?
Diamond D: I was definitely hoping it would. I spent two years crafting it and I was very meticulous about it, I’m very appreciative for the accolades.
THS: What is it about the creative process as it pertains to producing, that keeps you motivated to make these types of intricate albums?
Diamond D: I would have to say the fans and my love for hip hop keep me motivated to make these projects.
THS: You’ve crushed the music industry several times over, where else could you see yourself excelling if you weren’t making music?
Diamond D: I think perhaps in the stock market as a trader or maybe as a race car driver.
THS: What might fans be surprised to learn about you?
Diamond D: They would probably be surprised to hear that I’m really into politics and world history.
THS: Let’s end our discussion with a few fun questions! Tell us, what are your favorite guilty pleasure TV Shows/Movies?
Diamond D: OK! I’d have to say that my guilty pleasure TV show would be Sanford and Son reruns and my guilty pleasure movie would definitely be the movie Jaws.
THS: What do you treasure most about being from The Bronx?
Diamond D: For that, I’d have to say that I treasure my memories most. I love that I had a front-row view of the formulation of hip hop.
