Picture this: you got your issue of Rap Pages, The Source, or Vibe in the mail, or at your favorite magazine stand/bookstore/record store. Back when physical music distribution was at its peak, labels wanted to make sure you knew that your favorite song is out there, or that your favorite release is out, or coming very soon. Littered throughout all the fresh interviews and reviews, among the clothing ads, you likely saw a few of these advertisements.
